During operation, the drive converts axial motion (force acting on the axis) into radial/rotational torque, allowing for the rotation of larger loads with greater precision, while also enabling torque amplification with a gear.

The rotary worm drive is suitable for high-torque rotating equipment with continuous or cyclic motion that is capable of carrying combined loads.
